AABOT sa 7 katao ang mga nagtamo ng sugat matapos bumagsak ang bahagi mg kisame sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 nitong Biyernes, April 3.

Base sa mga naunang ulat, agad namang nabigyan ng atensyong medikal ang mga taong nasugatan sa nangyaring aksidente.

Naglabas na rin ng pahayag ang Department of Transportation (DOTr) at sinabing may ibinigay na silang directive sa Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) na makipag-ugnayan sa mga private operator ng NAIA Terminal 1 para maimbestigahan ang nangyari.

"The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has directed the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) to closely coordinate with the private operator of NAIA, the New NAIA Infra Corp (NNIC), to immediately investigate the incident involving the collapse of a portion of the ceiling at the arrival extension area of Terminal 1 today, April 3," saad ng ahensya.

Ito ay alinsunod sa utos ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos na unahin ang kaligtasan ng mga pasahero at empleyado ng NAIA.

Dagdag pa nila, "Transportation Secretary Banoy Lopez has immediately instructed MIAA and NNIC to ensure the safety and security of all passengers and airport personnel, and to submit a detailed report explaining the cause of the incident."

Tiniyak naman ng ahensya na mananatiling normal ang operasyon sa NAIA Terminal 1 at patuloy pa rin ang kanilang monitoring sa nangyaring insidente.

"As of this writing, the operations at NAIA Terminal 1 remain normal. The DOTr is closely monitoring the situation and expects a thorough assessment of the incident, including the implementation of necessary measures to prevent similar occurrences in the future," sabi pa ng ahensya.
