Jasmine Curtis sa pambabastos ni Suntay kay Anne: Yung init ng ulo at dugo ko

NAGPUPUYOS sa galit ang Kapuso actress na si Jasmine Curtis Smith dahil sa pambabastos ni Quezon City 4th District Rep. Bong Suntay sa kanyang kapatid na si Anne Curtis.

Hindi nakapagpigil ang aktres sa paglalabas ng sama ng loob sa pamamagitan ng sunod-sunod na post sa X matapos mapanood ang naging pahayag ni Suntay patungkol sa kanyang ate.

Nangyari ito sa pagdinig ng House Committee on Justice sa Kongreso para sa impeachment complaint laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte.

"Minsan nasa Shangri-La ako, nakita ko si Anne Curtis. Ang ganda-ganda pala niya.

"You know, may desire sa loob ko na nag-init talaga, at na-imagine ko na lang kung ano ang puwedeng mangyari. Pero siyempre hanggang imagination lang 'yon," ang sabi ni Suntay sa hearing.

Binengga naman agad ng ilang miyembro ng komite ang pahayag ni Suntay kasabay ng paghahain ng mosyon para tanggalin sa official records ng pagdinig ang nabanggit na bahagi ng manifestation ng kongresista.

"With all due respect to my friend Congressman Bong Suntay, it is just the start of the Women's Month, and I don't think that we should be hearing such comments from our dear colleagues," ang sabi ni San Juan Rep. Ysabel Maria Zamora na sinang-ayunan naman ng iba pang kongresista.

Kasunod nito, binanatan ng mga netizens at ilang celebrities si Suntay at nanawagang mag-resign na sa kanyang posisyon dahil sa kabastusang ginawa niya umano kay Anne.

Isa nga sa mga unang nag-react sa isyu ay ang kapatid ni Anne na si Jasmine. Narito ang buong pahayag ng Kapuso star bilang pagtatanggol sa ate niya na mababasa sa Facebook.

"This moment is not about one female celebrity. It is about how ALL WOMEN, regardless of profession, continue to be reduced to bodies in spaces dominated by men in power.

"When a congressman publicly narrates his 'desire' and imagination about a woman he once saw (or dreams he saw, idk his statements keep changing), it reinforces a culture that treats women as consumable, as spectacle, as fantasy, as objects for commentary rather than as whole human beings with agency, intellect, and autonomy.

"Public office carries with it the responsibility to elevate discourse, not diminish it. The halls of government should be spaces where women are discussed for their contributions, their ideas, and their leadership — not as imagined scenarios.

"We cannot continue excusing this as 'just being honest' or 'just a compliment.' It is neither.

"Respect is not complicated. If we want safer environments for our daughters, nieces, and future leaders, accountability must begin with those elected to represent us."

Bukod dito, nag-post din si Jasmine sa FB hinggil dito kalakip ang ilang artcards na nananawagan ng resignation ng kongresista.

"RESPECTFULLY, BONG SUNTAY, WHAT ON EARTH??? BAKIT GANON ANG THINKING? HAPPY NATIONAL WOMEN'S MONTH."

Ibinahagi rin niya ang post ng isang netizen na dapat daw magsampa ng ethics complaint ang kapatid laban sa mambabatas at criminal complaint kaugnay ng Qualified Sexual Harassment Online and in Public Spaces o Sec. 15 ng Bawal Bastos Law.

Panghuli, sinabi pa ni Jasmine, "Yung init ng ulo at dugo ko.. ang hirap matulog ha!"
