Xyriel Manabat emosyonal sa ‘18th Rose’, 1st time mabigyan ng lead role

SA kanyang unang major role bilang lead actress sa Netflix film na "18th Rose", hindi napigilang maiyak ni Xyriel Manabat nang malaman niyang ipapalabas sa buong mundo ang kanyang pelikula.

"I still remember how it was brought to me. I can remember how much I cried and how much I prayed because it's not just a dream come true, it's a prayer, answered prayer," kwento niya nang tanungin sa Next On Netflix Philippines event kung ano ang reaksyon niya na mapapanood ng mundo ang kanyang pinagbibidahang romantic comedy film.

Ang pelikula ay nakatakda sa early 2000s sa Romblon, tampok ang kwento nina Rose at Jordan, isang friendship na unti-unting nauuwi sa pag-ibig.

Kwento ng direktor na si Dolly Dulu: "Well, 2000 was my childhood. I grew up early 2000s. So I wanted to somehow relive my childhood…I just wanted to write stories about what I've experienced in the sense that I know how to tell it because I know what it felt like."

Ang chemistry nina Xyriel at Kyle Echarri ay natural, dahil matagal na silang magkakaibigan sa totoong buhay.

"Transitioning the friendship that I built with Kyle to something meaningful… it was smooth and it felt effortless also because me and Kyle knew each other for a very long time… Each and every sequence that we closed, we built a deeper connection with each other," chika niya.

Sinabi rin ni Dolly na malaking factor rin ang lokasyon: "We were lucky enough to shoot in Romblon because it was a lock-in shoot. So we were all there for like a month. So the bond came in naturally. The relationship came in naturally."

Ang "18th Rose" ay mapapanood sa Netflix simula April 9, at inamin ni Xyriel na very excited na siya para rito.

"Yes, excited na excited na po kami na ipakita po sa inyong lahat at sa buong mundo ang mundo po ni Rose and Jordan," aniya.
