Curlee Discaya at Sarah Discaya

NAKA-FREEZE na ngayon ang mga bank account ng mag-asawang Sarah at Curlee Discaya sa gitna ng isinasagawang pagdinig sa Senado.

Ito'y kaugnay pa rin ng pagkakasangkot ng pamilya Discaya sa mga umano'y maanomalyang flood control projects sa Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

Sa Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing ngayong araw, September 8, nabanggit ni Curlee na kinailangan na raw nilang mangutang sa regional director ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region V na si Eduarte Virgilio. 

Aniya, naka-freeze na raw kasi ang kanilang mga bank account kahit wala pang pormal na kautusan o resolusyon ang Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC). 

"Katunayan nga noong makalawang araw, bago po yung…humihingi ako ng tulang sa kanya, kasi na-freeze ng bangko ang mga account namin kahit wala pang court order ng AMLC. 

"Eh, sabi ko 'Baka puwede pong makautang?Makahingi ng tulong,'" ang pahayag ni Curlee. 

Mismong ang driver umano ni Virgilio ang nagbalik ng pera sa kanilang opisina.

"So, ngayon po ang nangyari po nito, mukhang naramdaman niya na magsasalita na ako kaya isinauli po niya yung 25%, parking fee, kulang pa nga," rebelasyon ni Curlee.

Sagot naman ni Virgilio sa paratang ni Curlee, "No, I did not return any money."

Kabilang si Virgilio sa mga taong pinangalanan ni Discaya na umano'y pumuporsyento sa kabuuang budget ng kanilang pondo mula sa mga kontrata na kanilang natatanggap sa gobyerno. 

Bukod kay Virgilio, ilang kongresista at mga opisyal ng DPWH ang kanyang itinuro na umano'y nanghingi ng pera kapalit ng pagkapanalo sa mga proyekto ng gobyerno.

Paliwanag ni Discaya, "We had no choice because if we didn't cooperate, they would create problems for the project awarded to us through mutual termination or right-of-way issues, both of which would prevent the project from being implemented. 

"After we won the bidding, some DPWH officials approached us to ask for and take their share of the project amount," aniya.
