‘Open Endings’ nina Janella at Klea pasok sa Queer Filmfest sa Boston, UK

BONGGA! Napili ang Cinemalaya 2025 box-office hit na "Open Endings" sa dalawang international film festival this year.

Ang naturang LGBTQIA-themed movie ay pinagbibidahan nina Janella Salvador, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Klea Pineda at Leanne Mamonong.

Ang naturang Cinemalaya hit ay mula sa direksyon ni Nigel Santos at sa panulat ni Keavy Vicente kung saan nanalo pa ito ng special citation sa Cinemalaha bilang "Best Ensemble Performance."

Unang-una, magkakaroon ng international premiere ngayong araw, April 6, ang "Open Endings" sa Wicked Queer festival sa Boston.

"We made a small film about love, friendship, and messy queer lives… and now it's heading to the U.S.," ang announcement ng production ng pelikula sa kanilang social media accounts.

Ang mababasa naman sa official social media accounts ng Wicked Queer filmfest, "Open Endings is a highly acclaimed 2025 Philippine queer film by Nigel Santos, celebrated for its realistic portrayal of sapphic relationships, focusing on four queer women (exes-turned-best-friends) navigating love, heartbreak, friendship, and chosen family, offering a nuanced look at queer lives beyond typical tropes, and highlighting the depth of lesbian bonds."

Sa darating naman na May 23, ipalalabas ang "Open Endings" sa Queer East Film Festival sa United Kingdom kabilang ang iba pang Filipino films kabilang na ang "Flower Girl" (2026) at "Macho Dancer" (1988).

Sa website ng Queer East Film Festival, mababasa ang description ng "Open Endings", "A confident, self-aware film about loyalty, solidarity, and the liberating power of non-normative lifestyles" and highlighted the 'appealing performances' of its four leads."

"Open Endings" tells the story of four queer women who have all dated each other at some point in their lives and eventually developed a ride-or-die friendship. However, a life-changing decision from one of them will test their bond," ang nakasaad naman sa official page ng pelikula.

Samantala, ibinandera naman ni Janella sa kanyang Instagram story kung saan ni-repost niya ang good news about their movie with caption, "Festival after festival!!"

Matatandaang lumaban din ang "Open Endings" sa Asian Next Wave, ang main competition section ng 2025 QCinema International Film Festival.
