KC 40 years bago naintindihan sitwasyon bilang anak nina Sharon at Gabby
UMABOT ng apat na dekada bago naintindihan at natanggap ng actress-entrepreneur na si KC Concepcion ang sitwasyon ng kanyang pamilya.
Aminado ang aktres at singer na hindi naging madali para sa kanya ang maliwanagan tungkol sa sitwasyon niya bilang anak ng mga magulang na may kanya-kanya nang pamilya ngayon.
Ayon kay KC sa kabila ng mga nangyari ilang taon na ngayon ang nakararaan, napakataas pa rin ng respeto niya sa kanyang mga magulang na sina Sharon Cuneta at Gabby Concepcion.
Si KC ang bunga ng pagmamahalan noon nina Gabby at Sharon na may kanya-kanya na ngang partner kasama ang kanilang mga anak.
Napag-usapan ang tungkol sa pagkakaroon ni KC ng tinatawag na blended family sa panayam sa kanya ni Karmina Constantino para sa YouTube podcast nito.
Simulang pagbabahagi ni KC, “I would like to respect the actual families, my Mom has with my Dad, I used to call him Tito Francis, but I call him Dad, and my Papa (Gabby) and Tita Gen (Genevieve Gonzales).
“I want to be sensitive about acknowledging that that’s their family now.
“Through the years, I’ve sat in these chairs and interviews, and I had a mic in front of me, most definitely I shared my perspective where it’s difficult to be in between and to somehow be everywhere and aware, at the same time,” lahad ng aktres.
Pagpapatuloy niya, “I can’t call it a blended family. It is a blended family in my world, but not in everyone’s world.
“We are not actually a blended family, but in my world, my family is a blended family, only in my realm.
“It took forty years to see this. I think it’s very difficult for parents or even for everyone to understand the situation daughters like me are placed in, especially if they themselves did come from a broken family,” saad ni KC.
Mas na-appreciate pa raw niya ngayon ang pamilya ng kanyang mga magulang at sa mga asawa ng mga ito.
“My parents, my Mom, my Dad, my Papa, and Papa’s wife, they really did their best and continue to do their best to nurture their marriages and their families, which are my families technically,” sey ni KC.
“When was it that you felt that you were no longer an outsider?” ang sunod na tanong ni KC.
“I don’t feel that I 1,000 percent belong to either family. There will always be blurred lines.
“But when I accepted the reality of my position and the reality of the setup, it’s like, how structured, naintindihan ko na yung side din ng stepparents ko na, ‘Oh my God, tao lang din sila. Ang hirap din ha na may ako. And may opinyon lahat ng tao.’
“It’s hard enough to take into consideration the possibilities kapag may anak and then it’s not yours. Yung ganu’n.
“I’m so appreciative, and it’s no longer about belonging or being an outsider or not. It’s just the acceptance.
“So that realization, that acceptance and understanding of that world of Mom’s family, Papa’s family, and me, and my future family was a breakthrough for me,” sey ng dalaga.
Dugtong pa ni KC, “I love this unique position I’ve been placed in, and I hope I make it right. Why, kung bakit ako ang nilagay dito, I hope I crack the code,” aniya.
