Bela Padilla handang itaguyod ang Pinoy cinema: I’ll always be here to help!

IBINANDERA ng aktres at filmmaker na si Bela Padilla ang kanyang pagmamahal sa industriya ng pelikulang Pilipino!

Kamakailan lang, dumalo si Bela sa House of Representatives' committee on creative industries hearing, para suportahan ang panukalang batas na naglalayong palakasin ang lokal na pelikula sa pamamagitan ng Philippine Film Commission.

Sa kanyang Instagram post, unang sinabi ni Bela na hindi niya natapos ang hearing dahil sa kanyang filming schedule, ngunit ikinuwento pa rin niya ang kanyang international experience bilang filmmaker sa Switzerland at Italy.

"I was only able to stay for everybody's opening statements but I actually had answers for the ten questions I was sent beforehand, when asked for suggestions to help fix problems that I see as a filmmaker today," sey ng aktres.

Wika niya, "The reaction was always the same. They're amazed at our output when our budgets are so low."

Dagdag pa niya, "Honestly, I always get sad when I hear a Filipino put down a local film or review a local film harshly and compare our work to an international project that has a budget we can only dream of, because I see foreigners appreciate our work more than we do."

"And sadly, that lack of patriotism or pride in our work is apparent not only in the film industry but in every sector," saad niya pa.

Gayunpaman, may nakitang oportunidad si Bela na makatulong sa industriya sa pamamagitan ng mga ideya ni Negros Occidental Rep. Javi Benitez, chairman ng House Special Committee on Creative Industries.

"I was pleasantly surprised to see the other day that the bill covers so much of what needs to be addressed like fair equity for creatives and producers," pagbubunyag ng aktres.

Syempre, kahit na kailangan na niyang bumalik sa set, ipinangako ni Bela na palagi siyang susuporta sa industriya.

"I wish I got to stay longer but I had to go back to set. But I obviously will always be here to help the industry I love most in any way I can," lahad niya.

Aniya pa, "What I clearly saw the other day is that one truly doesn't need to be elected to help. And that there are people elected who still care."

Sa pagtatapos ng kanyang post, umaasa si Bela na, "We have a long way to go. But this bill, if passed and done correctly, will get us closer."

Bukod sa pagkakaroon ng film commission, layunin ng panukalang batas na suportahan ang mga filmmakers sa pamamagitan ng incentives, funding, at skills development.
