Juan Ponce Enrile pumanaw na sa edad 101

SUMAKABILANG-BUHAY na si Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Juan Ponce Enrile matapos tamaan ng pneumonia. Siya ay 101 years old.

Pumanaw si Enrile sa kanyang tahanan ngayong araw, November 13, sa ganap na 4:21 p.m..

Isinugod sa ospital ang dating senate president at na-confine sa intensive care unit (ICU) kamakailan ngunit bumigay na nga ang katawan nito habang ginagamot ng kanyang mga doktor.

Kinumpirma ng kanyang pamilya ang malungkot na balita sa pamamagitan ng official statement mula sa anak niyang si Katrina Ponce Enrile.

Bago namaalam, ibinalita ni Sen. Jinggoy Estrada nitong nagdaang November 11 sa Senado ang kundisyon ng dating senador at sinabing may "slim chances" na maka-survive ito.

"I have just received a very, very sad information that our former colleague, former Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile, is currenty in the intensive care unit of an undisclosed hospital suffering from pneumonia," ani Estrada.

"And I heard from a reliable source, very, very reliable source that he has slim chances of surviving," dagdag pa niya.

Si Juan Ponce Enrile ay isang malaking pangalan sa kasaysayan ng Pilipinas, mula sa pagiging abogado, miyembro ng gabinete ni dating Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, Sr. hanggang sa pagiging senador.

 Siya ay may malalim na papel sa Martial Law at sa EDSA People Power Revolution, ngunit hindi rin nakaligtas sa mga kontrobersya, lalo na ang mga kasong pandarambong. 

Sa kabila ng lahat, si Enrile ay nagpatuloy bilang isang makapangyarihan at kontrobersyal na personalidad sa politika ng Pilipinas.

Samantala, bago pumanaw ay nag-post ang mamamahayag na si Mon Tulfo tungkol sa tunay na edad ng dating Senate President.

Batay daw sa official record, 101-anyos na si Enrile pero sabi ng anak nitong si Juan "Jack" Ponce Enrile, Jr. kung ang pagbabasihan ay ang nakuhang tala sa simbahan sa Cagayan, ay 103 na ang namayapang opisyal.

"According to official records, Old Man Ponce Enrile is 101 years of age. But Jack said records retrieved at the Aglipayan church in Cagayan show that Juan Ponce Enrile was born on June 22, 1922.

"That makes him 103 years old!" ang post ni Tulfo.
