‘Austistic Barbie’ ibinandera na: ‘Created with guidance from the community’
BUMANDERA na ang kauna-unahang "Autistic Barbie Doll" na magiging representation ng community sa buong universe.
Ipinakilala at ipinakita na ng international toy company na Mattel ang design ng first-ever "Autistic Barbie" na maaaring ma-enjoy at malaro ng lahat ng collectors ng sikat na sikat pa ring manika.
"Barbie and ASAN (@autisticselfadvocacy) are proud to partner on the first-ever autistic Barbie, designed with connection and understanding at the core," ang nakasaad sa announcement ng Mattel sa kanilang Instagram account.
Sabi pa ng Mattel, ang paglabas ng bagong disenyo ng Barbie ay para mas mapalawak pa ang kaalaman at pag-intindi ng publiko, lalo na ng mga bata, sa mga may autism.
"Created with guidance from the autistic community to represent common ways autistic people may experience, process, and communicate about the world around them," lahad ng naturang toy company.
"This doll invites more children to see themselves represented in Barbie, and helps us all understand the many ways we each can experience the world," pahayag pa ng Mattel.
Sa IG post ng kumpanya, makikitang may kasamang fidget spinner, Augmentative and Alternative Communication tablet, at noise-cancelling headphones ang naturang Barbie.
Ang mga nabanggit ay karaniwang ginagamit ng ilang kabataan na nasa autistic community para makatulong sa kanilang self-expression.
Bukod pa rito, kasama rin sa "Diverse Doll Line" ng Mattel ang kauna-unahang Barbie Doll na may Down Syndrome, na dinesenyo sa pakikipagtulungan ng National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS).
Ayon sa isang health website, ang Autism o Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) ay tumutukoy sa mga kondisyon na nakaaapekto sa pagkakaroon ng pagsubok sa social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech, at nonverbal communication ng isang tao.
