Miss Universe Org rumesbak sa nag-resign na judge, nanindigang walang dayaan

BINUWELTAHAN ng Miss Universe Organization (MUO) ang akusasyon ng isang musician na nag-resign bilang isa sa mga judge ng international pageant.

Rebelasyon ni Omar Harfouch, napili na raw ang mga finalist sa magaganap na grand coronation night bukas ng umaga, November 21 (Manila time).

Sa kanyang Instagram stories, inispluk ni Omar Harfouch na nagkaroon umano ng "impromptu jury" na siyang namili ng 30 finalists "without the presence of any of the real 8 members of the jury."

"After having a disrespectful conversation with (Miss Universe Organization president) Raul Rocha about the lack of transparency in the Miss Universe voting process, I decided to resign from the jury and refuse to be part of this charade," saad ni Harfouch.

"The results of this selection are currently being kept secret," aniya pa.

Kasunod nito, naglabas agad ng official statement ang Miss Universe Organization at mariing pinabulaanan ang tungkol sa "impromptu jury".

"On November 17, the Miss Universe Organization publicly released the official selection committee of the Beyond the Crown Program, an independent social impact initiative designed to promote leadership, service, education, health, inclusion, and meaningful support for charitable causes. 

"This program operates entirely separately from the Miss Universe competition and from the official judging panel," ang bahagi ng naturang statement.

"The Miss Universe Organization firmly clarifies that no impromptu jury has been created, that no external group has been authorized to evaluate delegates or select finalists, and that all competition evaluations continue to follow the established, transparent, and supervised MUO protocols," ang sabi pa ng MUO.

Tinanggap ng MUO ang pagre-resign ni Harfouch bilang isa sa mga official judge kaya, "He can no longer associate himself with any of the trademarks, service marks, logos, titles, and registered properties of the MUO."

"All procedures remain governed by the organization's highest standards of transparency, integrity, and fairness," ang nakasaad pa sa official statement.

Magaganap ang grand coronation night ng 74th Miss Universe sa Thailand kung saan umariba ang bet ng Pilipinas na si Ahtisa Manalo sa preliminary competition ng pageant.

Umaasa ang sambayanang Pilipino na maiiuwi ni Ahtisa ang ikalimang Miss Universe crown ng Pilipinas.
